google analytics is an add on to the YUKU..collects data about users- it collects info from the site and users - it's not spam or spyware. it does take a second or two to load and slower processors would see this in the status line at the bottom of the browser. we use it on every web site at work..nice way to see where, when etc..right down to the IP node where the call comes from (it'll tell within a stones throw of where you logged in from, cell towers included)

Rob, Could you get around this by disabling cookies on your machine?

And a ps to SS, I expect the mac is doing the same cookie/reporting thing as any windoz machine.

It means the free service isn't as free as you think.

There are numerous tracking cookies yukkyYuo puts on your computer, the initial connection to Google Anaylatics is the cookie calling home (and vice versa) to find out where you've been since you've been gone. that's part of why you have to log back in all the time, it ain't for your protection. Google is paying Yuku for the access.

Oh and BTW, V-Bulletin doesn't do this so when you play on...

When I open up this forum, the hour glass icon appears and it says down below..."Transferring Data from Google Analytics" and it stays in this mode for some time............Any idea what that means?
