I'm getting ready to do the 12000 mile service on my R1200ST. I'm just wondering what people are using for oil, filter, and trans fluid?

Spectro 4 if I can get it. Otherwise, motorcycle-specific Castrol carrying API spec SG. BMW oil goes in the Oilhead's clunky transmission.
I add a small amount of Dow Corning Gear M (molydenum disulfide) additive in the airhead's silky transmission, shaft and rear drive. |

I use BMW oil filters, Mobil 1 15-50 Redcap oil. Mobil 1 transmission oil but in the final drive use 75-90 non synthetic oil. When I used Synthetic oil in
the final drive on my K , I had a leak, Switching back to Dino oil solved that problem. Also Paul Glaves former moa president and a heck of a wrench, strongly
suggests 75-90 versus 75-140 weight oil.
