Say goodby to an old friend |

For many years, the YB's met monthly at the Colonial House located in Bellingham on the corner of route 140 and Maple Street. I'm sure many members
fondly remember good times there. On my way to work today, on behalf of all YB's, I said a fond farewell as the bull dozer's were process of leveling
it to make way for a bank and shopping plaza.

WOW !! I went by there after the meeting yesterday and the building was still up. I was with three other unnamed YB's. We were on a mission from God
that I can't discuss. Suffice to say we completed our mission, and the YB collective will reap a reward later on this summer.
By the way, I may have broken one of my own records yesterday. Total of 305 miles ridden just to eat breakfast with all youse guyz. Great riding and thanks for letting me be a member of this great club. |

Bob: When I got home after a great ride, wonderful breakfast and great start to the day I noticed I had done 252 miles by the time I returned to the garage.
I can say meeting up with and riding in with the Cam Tiggers is really the only way to go to breakfast.

Well, I must be a slacker, I only rode about 235 miles yesterday, up to the meeting, south bound with Catfish and then back roads from South Kingston home.
I really nice weekend of riding !

Nerner Nerner.
I left Thursday afternoon and got back Sunday for Sunset. 2300 miles.
Just for fun check out this most excellent thread hijack on the MOA Fourm. Somebody from Colorado asked if you had to be a YB to be elected to the MOA board. Check it. http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25317 |

Brad, the sign has been gone for several years. It was last called Vincenzos. Colonial House was much more appropriate place for the YB's to meet.

Ritalin Poster Boy wrote: Sounds like a great ride RPB. But you're cheating here. You didn't go to the meeting did you? If I missed you there I apologize up front. Also,
fair warning: Some day you're gonna see a black Guzzi sitting outside your door. When you take off on a ride, it's gonna follow you up to and
including its' max speed capability. This is not a threat. Just a statement of fact |

We were so damned fortunate to have experienced the hospitality of Nancy at the Colonial House. The Golden Years for YB. I fondly recall that parking lot
jammed handle bar to handlebar with Beememrs, Ducks, Guzzis and a variety of brands. Outdoor seminars, and raucus meetings. We even had my parents suprise 50th
wedding anniversary there. There I go, ruminating again. A sure sign that I'm entering...senior citizenship. Heck, some day I'll be among the ranks of
YB statesmen Bob Pipes, Crist Costa and Bill Neilsen. The ultimate of YB company. (I hope)

Not entering senior citizenship, Dana. Just remembering things good of which you were (and still are) a major part. See for your self:

Anyway, speaking of golden years. It is up to the newer breed of Yankee Beemers to make these their golden years. What are you doing to help your fellow members feel the same way as Dana? Promote a ride! Have a cookout! Put on a seminar! I am looking for ideas and people to run with them. |
