Hi YBers, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shawn, I am from Medford Ma. I Just sent in my application for YB membership last week. I am 50 years
old, I have been riding since 1976, when I bought my first Honda CB350. I have had many bikes over the past "few" years. Mostly cruisers, and one
large Japanese touring bike. This is my first BMW, I bought my 2004 R1150RT last spring. I really love the motorcycle, and managed to put 6K+ on it last
season. I hope to meet you all soon, possibly at next Saturday (4/5) ride to Goulds Sugar House.

Welcome to the YBs Shawn. I will look for your YB membership application in the mail.
You missed our monthly breakfast meeting yesterday. This is a good opportunity to meet the rest of the group. I should receive your membership application soon, and just in time to put you on the mailing list for our next monthly news letter called The Boxer Shorts. Hope to see you at the Goulds ride this weekend.

Welcome Shawn. Butt!! I must put in a reality check here. At the meeting yesterday, I promised to lead a group from the meet place to the pancake place.
And really . . . I would be happy to do that.
Butt!! Extended weather forecast for my house says stuff will be falling from the sky from Tursday night through Saturday night. Low temps Friday night scheduled to be 26 degrees. I'm working on the math here, and it doesn't look good for the dirt roads I had planned. May not even be safe to leave the house ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Warning. The weather at my house is the same as you will get trying to go
from 2/202 to Goulds. Think about below freezing and sleet. Then think again.
If we all make it alive to the gas station at route 2/202, and on two wheels, I'll likely plan an all pavement route and will try really hard not to loose any of the riders this year. |

Hi Shawn,
Just another voice welcoming you to a great group. You sound like an enthusiastic addition . . . great. You'll bump (figuratively, I hope) into many members sooner or later, but from the weather forcasts it sounds like it may be more later than sooner, but it'll come. Welcome. John Murray |

Shawn,
Welcome aboard. You're in for a great ride! Many of us started on Jap bikes a long time ago. Be sure to make yourself known at any event you show up to. We don't really try to ignore newbies, but it has been known to happen. All of us were newbies once, and I can attest it is worth the effort to get involved. Again welcome aboard. Bruce |

Mallory, you are too F'***g much. I have never joined your illustrious group in the past, but your remarks are too seductive to ignore. My mind set right
now is to join youse guys somewhere for the am ride, but then again, should the weather be too uninviting I might exercise that option which, as a coward, I
always keep in reserve: I might hide. Should I not appear by the appointed time, do as I am sure you would do anyway without my urging: say "Screw him;
let's go." John M.

Mallory, Looks like the forecast is improving a bit. Hereis the current NWS for my place:
Friday...Snow likely in the morning...then rain likely in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation. Highs in the lower 40s. Chance of precipitation 70 percent. Friday Night...Rain likely in the evening...then rain showers likely after midnight. Lows in the mid 30s. Chance of rain 70 percent. Saturday...Mostly cloudy. Rain showers likely in the morning. Highs in the upper 40s. Chance of rain 60 percent.Weather Based on this, I would ride, but no dirt. The dirt route I made 2 years ago still awaits a dry event so we can try it out. Bummer. But the roads will be fun as long as it's above freezing. |
