So, how did every one do in the MOA mileage survey?

I noticed Rob Nye was # 1 in RI and in the top 25 men. Gail Hatch was in the top 25 Women.

I'm a bit pissed - I turned mine in after totaling my bike to YB. SO either YB did not turn them in or BMWMOA edits the # they pick. Can someone look into
this ! On top of that - I had to put my dog down today. I do have some good news - got a new bike on Wen. '06 K1200S and I'll be rallying now and into
the future.

BMWMOA - Says there was only 45 rider to turn their milage cards from MA. Something's not right here.

To bad about your dog. milage survey always has noles in the system and very hard to say who did the most real miles. don't realy care anyway. SS

Regarding the first part. I am the "YB representative" that mail in the YB Mileage serveys.
I mailed in all the MOA Mileage surveys that were give to me, including my own, in one large envelope. I checked and my mileage was recored along with few YBs that I know were part of YB mass mailing to the MOA. So I sorry that I can't shead any more light on why your milege was not rerorded. Cambridge K did you receive a milage pin from the MOA?

Notary stamp | #9 | ||

Since it is usually hard for me to hook up with other members or attend meetings, I make it really simple and have the Notary at my bank sign the sheet for me.
Drop it in the mail and it's all done. Same thing for the ending sheet No mystery to the process this way. YB's offer a great service by doing this
mass mailing and I doubt it is happening on the clubs end. I know there are some mistakes in the Ma. listings in the MOA Mileage Survey that just came out so
who knows?

Turns out there are other possibilities for screwing up the mileage survey. I received my pin and congratulations from the MOA yesterday. Only problem there
is that I didn't submit a starting form. Nor did I submit a finishing form. Checking the listings, I see that they didn't put me down for any
mileage, but this is pretty strange.

Participation pin error | #12 | ||

I and one of my brothers received pins last week. Neither of us enrolled this year. Maybe there are some turnover issues, since new person is running the
contest.

27675! He has contacted the MOA so credit can be given to the person who deserves it. Anybody know who that person is?
Hopefully this year is better!

Ay hello BMW MOA Directors - time to do a little work and get to the bottom of our organization.
I would like an explanation for these errors and in to have this resolved for future BMW MOA members to come.

As the chair for the Awards and Recognition committee, I am concerned to read about these issues. For years the mileage contest was managed by Karol Patzer and
it ran smoothly. I will discuss these problem with Karol at the Board meeting this weekend, and contact the current coordinator of the mileage contest to see
what we can do to avoid these problems this year.
If you like, please email me directly with issues you've encountered. Please include your real name and MOA number. I hope that those of you who enjoy this contest, will continue to participate! Gail Hatch Director BMW MOA SheRidesABeemer@BMWMOA.org |

Larry, Thanks for validating our mailing with some known applicants who made the list. Restores my faith in the US Mail.
Gail, Thanks for looking into this. One year when I was the YB Secretary, a guy sent in his mileage form with his ballot. In order to prevent myself from telegraphing the reults, I made it my practice to open and count the ballots in December, long past the dealine for submission. Believe or not I still feel regret for this... As for myself, I usually use the signing of the form as an excuse to go and kick tires and swap lies at Dunbar's, my friendly neighborhood dealership. Mail it on the way home. But even that's no guarantee. |

My intent in looking into this is to fix the process for 2008, not go back and try to resolve 2007's issues. At the board meeting I did learn that many large local clubs reported similar problems. I think we need to chalk it up to experience, and not repeat it this year. I'm working with all involved parties to identify a better process to follow.
