Roy,
They look like small electric motors, but the outside casing appears to be some type of gear. Are they some type of eclectic gear, or a RPM sensor ?

Nope, nope and nope..........
Here's a hint.....they draw 5 watts as opposed to 33 watts...............Some bikes are wattage challenged and these will help.

Mr Blethen is CORRECT!
Super-duper LED tail lamps and marker lights...........A conventional bulb illuminates much slower (a following car will approach 80 feet closer at 60 MPH in the time it takes for a conventional bulb to "glow") An LED taillight is instantaneous. An LED bulb will last hundreds of thousands of hours and vibration won't damage them................And there are huge "watt" savings on bike like the Watt Challenged V Strom...........
