For the Slash5 it was a major struggle to bring the rear wheel speed into some kinda
relative normal relation to en-jine speed…. What the hell why be normal when you can be slow. We did however manage to bring all six Riders together to Maynard……
where we found …. Rick (WhoHe?) Voutour, a couple o' Haddens, Tall Steve & Ain't Stoppin, The Elusive Jeff (el Jefe) Stein, John (The Scribbler) Murray and Maurice (MoPhoto) Kornreich our L.O.D. (leader of the day)….. so count'em Thirteen……
The GraWun posted hisself as Crossing Guard to help the Gaggle move out of the
Parking lot onto 27….. & thought… to his very own self: "This Gaggle is gonna be more than one Gaggle when we get to Plainville…..Betcha one o' these Gags doesn/t understand the "you are responsible for the Rider behind you convention"…….. Maurice led us all over, and over again, some of the finest real estate in the Great Commonwealth of the Massachusetts,,,,, some of us (esp The GraWun) had no idea where we were…
and one of us had a medical emergency which required the old stop, zip down, empty out
& zip up routine……. Well now we were two gaggles……. Maurice and the first six
Cruisin' right along their merry high-ways…… & the GraWun leading the orphans
managed to find the renowned rtes 27 & 115……. Onward to The Tavern.
The Orphans were scarfing the protein before MoPhoto rumbled in with his six
…… & everybody lived happily ever after……….
Next Sunday May 18 …The 'cast calls for some showers… but that only means that
the sun will not be in our faces….We will leave the Cambridge Alewife Brook Parkway
(that's rte 16 west near Fresh Pond) DunkinDonutDump at 6:30AM and ride almost directly to the intersection of rtes 117 & 27 in Maynard……. The OutRiders will be
Waiting……. Providence and Good Karma will provide a Fearless Leader………
