Helmet advice please |

|
Today my helmet dopped and went rolling across the concrete floor and broke off the vent covers and now the visor will not go all the way up. I was thinking of
getting a new one anyway. I have a full face with little speakers I put in it to listen to my Ipod. I was thinking of a flip up but I need to be able to either
add the speakers to it or have them already installed. I am am worried about a flip up because of noise and less protection. I will spend what I have to get a
good one. I am told carbon fiber is great because it is light and strong. The one I have is an HJC full face size XL (cheap I know but I have been very happy
with it- perhaps from ignorance). So please give me your thoughts on a replacement.

I've also been thinking about a carbon fibre helmet. Thye are very light, but i don't think they make a flip-up. The HJC and Joe Rocket carbon
helmets are nice and not super expensive.

I've been using an HJC AC-12 Carbon the last two race seasons. The price is reasonable and it is indeed lightweight. The visor is very easy to remove
and smoke or mirrored sheilds are cheap. I know a fair amount of racers that are using them if that is worth anything.

I have a Shoei,i have a HJC and i have a Nolan N100.
I always favor the Nolan. for fit, less noise and comfort. I would like to try one of them carbon fibre ones from england but $1200.00 is a bit much |

Several weeks ago our treasurer posted a link to helmet reviews done by one of the major mags, it was pretty informative and convinced me to buy a Shoei to
replace the Schuberth.

Arai, may have the best fit. | #6 | ||

I have had many helmets over the last 30+ years of riding. (Shoei, Bell, HJC, and even a few Cheap No-Names) I would recommend the Arai. I wear the Profile.
(a good helmet for about $400) All models (Quantum, Vector, Corsair) are very good, and priced accordingly. Each model has different interior head shapes. You
should try them all, till you find the best fit.
I personally think Arai has the best choice.. You get what you pay for. Buy the best helmet you can afford. JMO |

I bit the bullit and bought a Arai quantum 2.
http://www.araiamericas.com/helmets/...quantum-2.html I will have to see how it is on the bike but it did seem to fit my head well. Wish me luck! I will be really pissed if I spent all that money and I am not happy with the helmet. This week is so crazy I won't even be able to try it out until next week. Thank you all so much for your help! |

Go to a shop and try them all on. Maybe shop on the Internet, once you know what fits!

They gave me a great deal at Second Wind BMW. It was $30 cheaper than at hemet city so I was pretty happy.
