Among them was a a card that was covered with several expressions of good wishes and signatures of several Yankee Beemers, only some of which I could either decipher or recognise. Representing the Club, taking time from a very busy June Sunday, and traveling no small amount of distance to attend the party and represent the Club at my party were some members who, over the past, have generously shared their friendship with me and, in the Yankee Beemer manner, traveled no small distances in threatening rain to attend my marvelous party. I must offer special mention and sincere thanks to Rose and Fred Kolack, Kit Wise, Roy Bertolotto, Bob Ain't Stoppin Hadden, John Devlin, Rick Voutour and Jim Mitchell who were in attendance. I was very, very touched by their presence and chose to envision many other YBers standing beside them.
Also included within the card was an extremely generous amount of cash which I know must have been the consequence of the efforts of one or more solicitors and several contributors. Whether valid or not, I presume to interprete the gesture and gift as coming from all Yankee Beemers. Thanks so much for the cash; rest assured I shall use it for some acquisition or in a manner appropriate for a YBer.
As meaningful as the gift and presence of the YBer attendees were to me, the ever greater satisfaction was and is the certain knowledge that I have the honor to ride in a circle of the most genteel badasses that ever put on a helmet.
Sincerest thanks to all for your invaluable friendship and good wishes. John Murray
