Tech Day? |

Anyone interested in a tech day? It'd be great to meet some folks and tackle some projects where we can share skills, tools, frustration.

Is this an airhead boxer (type 247 engine) event?

I have an older airhead boxer and have also posted a request to the airheads beemer club mailing list, so I guess my focus is there. This is not yet a formal
event, I'm just gauging what the interest in something like this is, so I guess right now I'd say leave it open to all bikes and if the numbers are not
manageable then maybe break it up by bike type.

Ok, We're up to 15 people interested. Seems like all airheads at the moment so I think it's safe to say that this will be an airhead-centric event -
oilheads and other bikes are of course welcome, but you'll probably be in the minority.

We're up to 26 people now but still working on a venue. There are some possibilities in the works but nothing is finalized. There's a good mix of
experienced and newbie wrenches/riders. This should be fun.

Ken, I sent you a message through the board but have not heard back - can you email me at Luis AT casildo DOT com so I can put you on the mailing list for the
event.
Regarding the tech day, I've been offered 2 venues and am now just nailing down the dates. I might have details in time for the breakfast on Sunday. |

Toasty, i would be interested in a tech day. I just did the 12k service on my 2005 R1200ST so i have some experience with it. My bike's all set for a
while, but i would be willing to help out if i'm around. I'll see you Sunday. I'll be one of the few on an ST.

I would be interested, as well, depending on time. I am a new owner of an R80 and just starting to get my hands dirty. I'll send you an email as well.

Check your diode board. RT's tend to get very hot and will melt the solder attaching the diodes to the board. Also check the resistance of the 3
conductor wire. Resistance of the rotor, etc, etc.
