Close enough Mark. Lighter is better. Narrow is the arrow. 50+mpg is good! And this thing can go to the track!
Ya, I know, it needs farkles. Looks like I gotta go see Roy. So what happened is that the rear drive on the Guzzi started leaking again at the output seal. Oil on brake/rim/tire. You may remember that the already replaced the entire drive last season. Sorry, I want to stay alive and that means I want traction on the rear tire. Guzzi will fix bike under warranty and Wagners will have a nice used bike to sell. Me, I got a belt
Mayhap you can see it on Sunday. Over and out. |

Absolutely killer machine. You were a terror on the Guzzi, you'll be even more formidable on this. Congrats. JM

Cool ride, though I thought you might have gone with the sportier version. Now that i see someone on it, it almost looks like you are sitting on a camel, in
between two humps. If it really gets 50mpg, that is not bad at all.
Getting me to think about this bike now too... MarkG

Don't you mean that this thing can go AT the track? Congrats and good luck with this one. I rode the F800 S in Italy one morning. Kinda like a more powerful version of my SV650 S.

Good on you Bob,
I stopped in yesterday and they guy backed out of the Red S model. Though I like the ST better. |

Ya, I almost gave in to the cheaper price of the 'S', which was a last year bike. But I liked the flat gray color and the options on the st, so went
with that. I think I'm getting a date with Roy for Saturday. So mayhap you'll see a fully, or partially farkled bike at the Sunday meeting.
We'll see.

Unless one goes "two-up" often enough to warrant it, why would anyone forfeit the economy of capital and operating costs, ease of jackassing in and
out of garages, the versatility (many can accommodate ample gear and farkels) and the absolutely - unreservedly - more fun that can be had with a light bike?
Mine is keeping me dangerously child-like. Almost any model from today's increased offerings of 600-800 cc's are a blast. Of course like women's breasts, martinis, legs and hands, two bikes (one for comfort and one for speed) are better than one. Some might observe two partners of the opposite sex - one for comfort and t'other for speed ain't bad either. |

Well John, we're on the same page with most of your comments. If you want to think about symbolism, you might look at the articles about the F800 engine.
Two jugs with a long thing underneath (the balance system). I don't know quite what it means, but I bet you can come up with something

Sweet bike Bob. I test rode one at Wagners last year but i just couldn't pass up the 1200ST. The 800 is a great bike and i'm sure i will be tempted
again when the GS model hits the states. The flat grey color is perfect.

I don't need to look at no stinking articles to know that if I were to come up with anything significant (a long held aspiration) en proximo to anything
like two jugs with a long thing underneath - designed to balance something or other - a "Merging Traffic" sign would be in order or a collision would
surely ensue.

Bruce, Nothing - I repeat - Nothing looks as good as Naomi. I may have to work on getting her on the bike. Have offered her a ride so she can compare the
comfort relative to the pillion on Dan's Speed Triple. That bike is a torture rack for the passenger. Stay tuned.
