2008 Pemi River? |
Lead | ||
|
I know in 2007 the Pemi River campout was moved to a week before Laconia Bike Week then moved back because of conflict with the BMWRA RAlly. I was wondering
if there has been discussion or has it been decided to run Pemi River the weekend before, with the vintage racing, or the regular weekend with Laconia Bike
Week? I went to Americade this year and will not be going next year. Just too much for my tastes.

Mark gotta ask. Too much of what????? The year (2002?) I went it seemed there was two Americades, the first part of the
week the wingnuts were in the majority then as the weekend came the loud pipe guys were the majority, however their seminars were always informative.

Too much giant motorcycles, trailers and hogs. A constant traffic jam. I enjoyed the time I was riding in the Adirondacks and Vermont but I could do that
anytime. The vendor area was not much better than a MOA national.

Laconia Bike Week was moved one week later in the season, and thus will start Father's Day Weekend.. Pemi River Campout moved right along with Laconia Bike
Week and will still be on the last weekend, June 20, 21, and 22.

As our esteemed Prez correctly pointed out Pemi 2008 will be the weekend of June 20,21,22. This falls the weekend after Fathers day and on the final weekend of
Bike week, which was moved for 2008.
I, along with Co-Chair Craig Cleasby are planning the rally now, we are kicking around ideas to attract more folks to attend. The pig roast last year went over well, it was a shame more folks didn't enjoy it. We welcome comments and suggestions, no promises that we will use them all, but we will listen and consider. Kurt

Aaron,
Consider yourself volunteered, um, if that's OK with our Rally Chairpersons. And thanks for stepping up! Why limit yourself to Pemi, there's always the Damn Yankee. So far we get Moto Guzzi folks at the Damn Yankee. Works out great. Only caveat, no loud pipes.

Just thought I would take a moment to mention that the 13th Annual Airheads at the Aerodrome gathering will be held the same weekend in 2008 as it has always been held........the weekend after Father's Day. I was told you are switching the Pemi weekend because the Aerodrome gathering drew more people than the Pemi gathering did last year.

Anyone have pics from previous events???
I've got an idea.... perhaps hair-brained and poorly reasoned...but an idea non-the-less.... |
