hey colt03 et all - The store just opened up at 6 p.m. and its pretty cool. The line went all the back from Boylston Street down Fairfield to Comm Ave. Great
atmosphere here kind of like a Holywood opening with all the staff cheering us as we came in. Now the good part....I think they were handing out Apple stock on
the way in (no just T-shirts). Amazing to see this all glass design with the glass spiral staircase in the middle of the store. I'm on the 2nd floor and
still have 2 more floors to go. Saw a few Red Sox players here....but no Steve Jobs
 I'll see if I can get pics.

Thanks for the report from the field, and yes your picture did post. I know some people will say what does this have to do with Motorcycles. When Steve Jobs headed the company the first time, he had a B& O stereo system in his office and a BMW motorcycle in the lobby of the building- he felt that both represented superb engineering. Yea, we used to sell B&O, but we stopped handling it because it had final drive problems with the CD players.............
If you really want an experience, the Apple store in Manhattan does something like $400M a year in sales...........That's just a little less than a Boston based consumer electronics chain with 100 stores that I know about does in total! Like Ducati, Harley Davidson and to a point BMW, Apple is more of a "Life Style" than a particular product............Amazing....

My 3 year old iPod crapped out on me last week. I changed the battery last winter. It seems the machine is just broke. Too bad. I am going to need some road
tunes soon!

When I was 7 my grandfather gave me one of the Original Sony Walkmans.. heavy as heck.. FM only used 4 AA batteries. I pretty much damn near never took it off
my head until at the age of 12, he gave me a cassette walkman, which I pretty much had to replace yearly until my college years of the CD walkman.. Ive been a
portable music player junkie since I can rememeber.. I decided to be a late-adopter and 3 years ago got the 60GB iPod Video.. Im literally carrying my entire
music collection with me after years of scratching CD's and wearing out cassettes.. I love the thing.. Ive compared it to all the other major players, and
while there are things I dont like (AAC format / no rental of tunes with Rhapsody , easily scratched screen) I must say that as a music junkie / gadget geek /
software engineer, Im so in love with my iPod I just cant believe that "the next walkman form factor" could impress me so much after having one if
each since the dawn of the invention...
Just my .02 if it broke maybe Id be cursing Steve Jobs name all over the net... -Ken |

I'm totally convinced that within our lifetimes we will see memory storage devices surgically implanted under our skin behind our ears and you will not
carry anything for music, cell calls, videos, GPS, etc................
